A pair of original color key concepts with scene notes from the Don Bluth Studios animated film "The Pebble and the Penguin" (1995). Featuring imagery of Hubie and other penguins on the fishing boat, the hand-painted concepts were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The concepts are used to develop and finalize the color palette, layout of the action, and the overall feel of the scene. When a color concept is finalized during production, it becomes the reference tool that animators use to paint cels and backgrounds, as well as to further progress through the storyboarding and layout of the individual scenes. The concepts and notes are attached to a presentation board and are in very good condition with minor handling wear due to studio use.
